Because of a recent relief appearance, Pete Alexander needed more rest, therefore Mark Fidrych stepped into his second start of the tour. He did well, getting the win, 5-2, against the 1941 Philadelphia Athletics. Fidrych worked seven and two third innings and though he scattered ten hits, he was able to limit the damage to just the two runs. Orlando Cepeda was the only Phenom with two hits. Eddie Murray went deep for the eighth time.
