The Cubs started first in this game, when Hank Leiber and Babe Dahlgren each homered in the bottom of the second, off Vean Gregg. Dahlgren’s was a two-run blast, giving the Cubs a 3-0 lead. Claude Passeau would keep the Phenoms at bay until the seventh. In that inning, he loaded the bases, then surrendered a sacrifice fly to Dustin Pedroia. Cal Ripken lined out, but Joe Jackson laced a two-run double, tying the game.
The Phenoms added on, with two more runs in the eighth and another in the top of the ninth, enroute to a 6-3 win.
