Runs, Walks and Errors, Oh My! This was a flat-out ugly display of baseball. The 1941 St. Louis Browns rolled over the Phenoms, 12-2, in their most lopsided defeat yet.

Not only did the Browns knock starter, Jose Fernandez out of the box after just one inning, after scoring five runs; they also managed to put up a five spot against the next man up, Mark Fidrych. Each team committed three errors. Willie Mays, in particular, had an awful game. He made a three-base error in the second inning, the second straight game he has been awful in the field. He also was 0-5, with a strikeout. The Phenoms bullpen issued nine walks. You’re not winning many ballgames playing like that. Joe Jackson was the only Phenom who showed up. He was 4-5, with a double and a triple and has pushed his average back up over .400.

NEXT GAME: AT 1941 ST. LOUIS CARDINALS
