Pete Alexander spun a two-hit shutout, defeating the 1941 St. Louis Cardinals, 2-0, in the final game of the 1941 phase of the Phenoms tour. Alexander nearly joined a select group of Strat performers, who have pitched one hit shutouts. I have rolled two no hitters and there are six pitchers who have allowed no runs and just one hit. Bruce Kison did it twice. In this instance, Alexander took a one hit shutout into the bottom of the ninth, but Johnny Mize singled. At the end of the day, Alexander got the two-hit shutout, striking out three, walking two and hitting one batter.

In addition, Bob Meusel spelled Cal Ripken at third and got his first home run.
