With a three-run lead, capped by a pair of solo home runs by Frank Robinson, along with five shutout innings of pitching by Jose Fernandez, the Phenoms looked poised for a win. However, the 1951 Brooklyn Dodgers had other ideas. They scored two runs in the sixth and three more in the seventh, to go on to a 5-3 win over the Phenoms. Cal Abrams’ three run clout over Bruce Sutter, in the seventh, was the coup de grace.
