The ’51 Phillies ace, Robin Robert held the Phenoms to no runs on four hits, in a 3-0, shutout win. The Phenoms have dropped three games in a row for just the second time on this tour.
#1 pitcher, Kerry Wood lost his second decision in a row. He gave up three runs on eight hits. Wood had control issues all game, walking eight and also throwing a wild pitch.
Joe Jackson led off the game with a triple but was stranded at third base. He added a double and a walk but could not score. In all, the Phenoms left four runners in scoring position.
