It was a rough outing for Phenoms starter, Jose Fernandez, who found his team trailing, 4-1, after five innings. The visitors tried to climb back in it, getting a run in the top of the seventh, when Orlando Cepeda doubled, then scored on a Dustin Pedroia single. In the top of the ninth, Carlton Fisk hit his eleventh home run, cutting the deficit to one. Troy Tulowitzki cracked a two out single, then Joe Jackson followed with another base hit, sending Tulo to third. The game ended when Andre Dawson flew out to right field.
