WP- CURT SIMMONS LP-VEAN GREGG (13-6)

HR- WILLIE JONES 2

The Phenoms losing streak extends to five games, as the 1956 Philadelphia Phillies defeated them, 6-2. Willie Jones was a one-man gang for the Phillies. He belted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the first inning, then hit a solo blast in the bottom of the eighth, for good measure. That accounted for all five Philadelphia runs.

This is the third straight game in which an opponent of the Phenoms has homered twice in one game. Curt Simmons went eight innings for the win.

NEXT GAME: AT 1956 WASHINGTON SENATORS
