In the second longest game of the tour, thus far, the Phenoms came away with a 3-2 win over the 1956 Baltimore Orioles, in fifteen innings. Each starter, Kerry Wood and Connie Johnson, went seven innings. The Phenoms took a 2-0 lead in the top of the second. Eddie Murray singled, Orlando Cepeda doubled, then Cal Ripken hit a sacrifice fly. Carlton Fisk followed with a rbi single, before the next two batters were retired.

Dick Williams hit a two-run home run for Baltimore in the fifth and tied the game. Despite numerous chances for both teams to score, the game remained knotted clear into the fourteenth inning. Willie Mays hit a leadoff double in the top of the fifteenth. Bob Meusel and Eddie Murray were retired, but Orlando Cepeda hit an infield single, moving Mays to third base. Ripken then singled in Mays, as the Phenoms took a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the fifteenth, Eichhorn loaded the bases with one out, but got Tito Francona to hit into a game ending double play.

Frank Robinson was a late scratch, for personal reasons.
