HR- HARRY SIMPSON, JIM FINIGAN
Harry Simpson, of the 1956 Kansas City Athletics, smashed a two-run home run off Mark Fidrych, in the bottom of the eighth, as they defeated the Phenoms, 6-5. That ensured the visitors would finish this leg of the tour with a losing record.
The game was tied, 2-2, after six innings, but Jim Finigan belted a two-run clout, to give Kansas City a 4-2 lead. That would not last, as the Phenoms tallied three runs in the top of the eighth, highlighted by a two-run single by Troy Tulowitzki. However, Simpson home run rendered that a moot point, in the bottom of that same inning.
