The Phenoms kicked off the 1958 phase of their barnstorming tour in a positive way, defeating the Boston Red Sox, 6-4. Kerry Wood, who has scuffled of late, pitched seven innings to earn his fifteenth victory. Joe Jackson had five singles, and Carlton Fisk was 3-4, with double and two runs scored. Cal Ripken continues to chase Frank Robinson for the team home run crown. He hit his 25th in the fourth inning.
