WP- CAMILO PASQUAL LP-KERRY WOOD (17-6)
HR- CAL RIPKEN (30)
To say that Kerry Wood had a subpar outing is the understatement of the year. He lasted just two and one third innings against the ’60 Senators, giving up seven runs on three hits. Just 3 hits, you say. Yes, but he walked eight in that span. Every time he got in trouble, he was given a chance to work out of it, based on past reputation and he didn’t come through. Four of those free passes crossed the plate in the 7-3 loss.
The only positive was Cal Ripken joining Frank Robinson, in the thirty-home run club, thanks to a solo shot in the top of the second inning.
