Mickey Stanley made an unbelievable, three errors, at first base, allowing Minnesota’s Jim Merritt to get revenge for an earlier season loss, as the Twins defeated the Tigers, 2-1. Denny McLain suffered his third loss of the season but could hardly be blamed. He pitched seven innings, allowing just two runs, both unearned and gave up only four hits.
