Denny McLain lost his third start of the season as Jim McGlothin and the Angels shut out the Tigers, 3-0. In three of McLain’s four losses, Detroit has not scored a single run. Once again, Denny cannot shoulder the blame, as he had another quality start, pitching seven innings, while allowing three runs on four hits. However, two of those were home runs, which really hurt.
