Gibson had a poor start last time out, but he rebounded in style, with a 4-0 whitewash of the Cubs, his second shutout of the season. It was a grind though, as the Cubs had a runner in scoring position in four of the nine innings. Curt Flood and Bobby Tolan each had a double and a single and both drove in a pair of runs.
