After a no-decision in his last start, Gibson suffered another close loss today, as the Cardinals fell, 2-1, to Chris Short and the Philadelphia Phillies. Despite another quality start for Gibby, who allowed just two runs on three hits, Short was a bit better, allowing just the one run in six and two third innings. Once again, St. Louis’ offense was putrid. They had a runner in scoring position five times yet plated only one run. In real life, Gibson shutout the Phillies, so he as now surpassed him in my replay, with one more win and the same number of losses.
