Bob Gibson ends his ’68 replay season with a 1-0 win over the Houston Astros. This was a great duel between Gibby and Larry Dierker. Tim McCarver and Mike Shannon both singled in the bottom of the ninth, with McCarver advancing to third. Phil Gagliano then hit a sacrifice fly to win the game.
