Steve Carlton 1972 Philadelphia Phillies

Next in this series, will be Steve Carlton’s amazing 1972 season, in which he won an amazing 27 games for the last place Philadelphia Phillies. One concession will be made in this replay. I play cards and dice only, so don’t have every player like the computer version does. In June of 1972, catcher, Tim McCarver was traded from the Phillies to the Montreal Expos. In the Super Advance release of the ’72 set, McCarver was only carded for Montreal. Because he was thought of as Carlton’s personal catcher, I will be using McCarver’s Expos card in the Phillies lineup for Carlton’s games, from opening day to his trade date in June.
