The Mets got a 1-0, walk off win, when Cleon Jones singled in Tommie Agee in the bottom of the ninth inning. Jon Matlack, who started for the Mets, outdueled the Phillies left hander, with a three-hit shutout. It was a tough one to lose for Steve, who tossed eight and a third innings, allowing just the one run on four hits. He fanned eight and walked one, though he also hit a batter and threw a wild pitch.
