It was a nice, comeback win for the Phillies, who fell behind, 3-0, after three innings. They would cut the deficit to one run, when Terry Harmon clubbed a two-run home run in the top of the seventh. The Phillies would take the lead for good, in the top of the ninth. With one out, Greg Luzinski singled. Willie Montanez then doubled, moving the Bull to third base. Harmon lined out to first base, but Larry Bowa laced a bases clearing triple, putting Philadelphia ahead 4-3. Bucky Brandon pitched the final two innings to earn the win. Steve Carlton was left with his second no decision in a row, after pitching seven innings.
