The Chicago Cubs are proving to be a thorn in the side of Dizzy Dean. The Cardinal fireballer lost to them in a second straight start, this time, 3 to 1 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. The Cubs got to Dean with three straight singles and a sacrifice fly, which added up to a pair of runs in the fourth inning. Guy Bush, who started and went eight innings, helped his own cause by doubling and scoring in the last of the seventh. The Cardinals lone run came in the top of the eighth, when Ernie Orsatti pinch hit for Dean. He doubled and scored on a Jack Rothrock single.
