The Phillies battered the Cardinals for sixteen hits, 10 of them off Dizzy Dean, in a 7-2 pasting. Dean left after seven, trailing, 3 to 1, but his bullpen let him down even more, surrendering four runs over the final two innings. Keep in mind that I’m only replaying Dean’s starts. Any relief appearances he had in real life will not count. It’s early in the season, but Dean has looked anything but dominant so far.
