For the second straight Dizzy Dean start, the Cardinals have been shutout. This time, Dutch Leonard and Brooklyn blanked them, 2-0. The Redbird offense has largely disappeared. They have scored two runs in the last 27 innings. St. Louis chose not to pinch hit for Dean in the bottom of the eighth, with one out and two men on. Dean is a good hitter for a pitcher but trailing, 2-0, it was a questionable move. He popped out to shortstop.
