In what was a pitcher’s duel for a large part of the game-the Cardinals were behind, 1-0, through seven innings- they were able to score a run in the eighth to tie it, then a Ducky Medwick homer in the top of the ninth, put them on top to stay.

It was the first, no-decision for Dizzy Dean, who worked seven innings, before giving way to Tex Carleton. Diz was able to get his ERA down under 3.00 for the first time this year.
