Greg Maddux earned his first win of the season, with a brilliant, three hit shutout of the Florida Marlins. Maddux struck out three and walked three in the complete game win. He also helped logged the first run of the game when his sacrifice fly plated Javy Lopez in the second inning. Marquis Grissom and Jeff Blauser would stroke back-to-back doubles in the seventh, leading to two more tallies.
