Greg Maddux suffered his first loss of the season, at the hands of the Los Angeles Dodgers, in a 10-5 drubbing. By far the worst start he has had thus far, Maddux did not make it out of the first inning. He allowed a single to Delino DeShields to open the game. DeShields promptly stole second base. Maddux then surrendered four more singles in a row. After Roberto Kelly reached on a Jeff Blauser error, the Braves went to the bullpen.
The relievers fared no better, giving up three more in the second inning and three more in the fourth inning. Greg will look to right the ship, after the Braves fly cross country to face the San Diego Padres.
