After his 31-inning scoreless streak ended in his last start, Greg Maddux picked up right where he left off, notching his eighth shutout of the year, with a 2-0 whitewash of the Montreal Expos.
Maddux was nothing short of dominant again, allowing just three hits, while fanning six and walking two. Eight shutouts in 19 starts and only one loss. Think about that.
Montreal starter, Pedro Martinez was no slouch, giving up two runs on five hits. However, Maddux was that much better. Marquis Grissom led the offense, going two for four, with a rbi triple.
