Dazzy suffered his first loss of the season, as the Chicago Cubs edged the Brooklyn Robins, 3-2. Vance worked seven innings in this game, allowing a home run to George Grantham, the first he has given up this year. Milt Stock also made a costly error at third, which led to another Cubs run. Chicago took the lead for good in the top of the fifth, on a rbi double by Grantham.
