Dazzy Vance 1924 Brooklyn Robins Final Replay Statistics. Real Life in parenthesis.
Starts: 34(34), Innings Pitched: 271.2(308.1), Earned Runs Allowed: 52(74), Unearned Runs Allowed: 6(15), Hits Allowed: 194(238), Strikeouts: 219(262), Base on Balls: 63(77), Hit by Pitch: 3(9), Wild Pitch: 0(4), Balk: 0(0), Home Runs Allowed: 6(11), Complete Games: 17(30), Shutouts: 9(3), No Decisions: 8(0), Wins: 19(28), Losses: 7(6), Earned Run Average: 1.72(2.16).
Some major differences can be seen. For one thing, in regard to innings pitched, Vance pitched a full three games in real life than in the replay. He had a lot more run support in reality than in the replay. There’s a big difference in the win totals as well. That can largely be attributed to all the no-decisions in the replay.
This project will be paused for a time as I am working on another project being played out on Mark Henrikson’s, http://www.cardanddicebaseball.com. site I highly recommend this site. It allows you to form leagues and do replays and stats are calculated for you, once entered for each game. Not every stat is there, but the major counting stats are represented. Schedules and Leader Boards are included.
My current project there is the 1970 Great Eight League. I have taken the eight teams with the best win percentage and set them up in eight team, 56 game schedules. You can go to his website and check out the action anytime. I’ll also be posting updates here, from time to time.
