Boston’s Joe Lahoud hit a two-run, pinch hit home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, increasing the Red Sox lead over Minnesota by two runs. Gary Wagner then came in to try and save the game. He allowed one run in the top of the ninth, but Boston held on for the 8-7 victory.
