The Cincinnati Reds ended Boston’s eight game winning streak, with a 4 to 3 win over the Red Sox. Bobby Tolan led the Reds offense, going four for five, with three doubles and a single.

Los Angeles 7 Pittsburgh 2

WP- Alan Foster (2-0) LP- Bob Veale (1-2)

HR- Al Oliver (1)

The Los Angeles Dodgers easily handled a sloppy Pittsburgh Pirates team in a 7 to 2 win. The Bucs committed three errors, and Bob Veale has looked very ordinary since his no hitter.

Minnesota 5 Oakland 1

WP- Bert Blyleven (1-2) LP- Blue Moon Odom (0-2)

Cesar Tovar and Rod Carew each scored twice and Harmon Killebrew knocked in three runs, in the Twins’ 5 to 4 victory over the Athletics.

Biggest news this round was Cincinnati putting an end to Boston’s win streak. The Reds are two games back but are on the Red Sox’ tail. Minnesota has a couple hitters heating up, in Tovar and Oliva. Oakland can’t seem to get anything going.
