BOSOX DESTROY SENATORS IN SERIES FINALE

Boston ends up winning two out of three from Washington, winning the finale by a convincing, 10-1 score.

Joe Dobson(1-2) gave up just one run, a fourth inning solo homerun by outfielder, Clyde Vollmer. The Red Sox moundsman allowed just three hits along the way.

The team got a five rbi day from Birdie Tebbets, including his first homerun of the season. Tebbetts also had a pair of two baggers. Al Zarilla(2) also went deep and Johnny Pesky was 4-5.

Boston took advantage of nine walks by four different pitchers. Five of those free passes ended up scoring.

The Red Sox kick off a homestand tomorrow, starting with a three game set with Chicago.

Today’s game was the only one in the American League.
