BOB FELLER BLANKS BOSTON WITH 6-0 SHUTOUT

Cleveland’s Bob Feller shutout the Red Sox, ending a four game win streak.

What began as a pitcher’s duel between Feller and Mickey McDermott(7-3), changed quickly when the Indians scored five runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Doubles by Feller himself, Allie Clark and Ken Keltner, sparked the big inning.

Tex Hughson, who relieved McDermott, allowed a sixth run to score in the top of the ninth, thanks to a wild pitch, with a man on third base.

The two clubs go at it again tomorrow.

Other American League scores: New York 13 Chicago 3; Detroit 4 Philadelphia 0; St. Louis 7 Washington 2
