The red hot Pirates continue their winning ways, earning their ninth straight victory, as they swept the Los Angeles Dodgers, in a two game series.

In the second contest, Harvey Haddix(11-6) won his fifth straight start, as he and Joe Gibbon limited the Dodgers to six hits. Gibbon was terrific in relief, pitching three, no run, no hit innings, with five strikeouts. Clemente added his (8th) homerun.

Pittsburgh will finish out their road trip with a two game series against the San Francisco Giants, before returning home to Forbes Field.
