After being on the losing end of a ten inning, 1-0 shutout, Pat Jarvis and the Atlanta Braves got their revenge in spades, as they knocked Bob Gibson out of the box, after just three and a third innings. The Braves would score five runs in the bottom of the fourth and go on to a 7-2 win. In that fateful fourth, Gibby allowed three doubles, a single and two walks. The damage was done by the time he came in, but Jim Britton should be given credit for three and two third innings of scoreless relief.
